A leading multinational pharmaceutical company is seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director – Controller Brazil to provide financial leadership for its Brazil operations.
The role will oversee FP&A, Tax, Accounting, Treasury, Credit, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, acting as a strategic business partner to the local leadership team. The position will play a key role in business planning, financial performance, governance, internal controls, compliance, risk management and sustainable profitable growth.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical Finance expertise with commercial acumen, leadership capabilities and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, multicultural and fast-paced pharmaceutical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Brazil business on financial and commercial matters, supporting Sales and EBITDA delivery.
- Lead annual planning, budgeting and forecasting, providing timely financial insights to support business decisions.
- Drive working capital, cash flow and expense management, ensuring strong financial discipline and achievement of budget and financial targets.
- Lead Audit, Internal Controls, SOPs and statutory/legal compliance in Brazil, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and applicable local requirements.
- Strengthen financial governance, risk management and compliance standards across the organization.
- Lead and develop the Brazil Finance team across FP&A, Tax, Accounting, Treasury, Credit, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Ensure integration, operational effectiveness and high-quality financial support to the business.
- Support the evaluation of in-licensing, outsourcing, acquisition and other strategic investment opportunities in Brazil.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Commercial teams to improve service levels, inventory management and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with regional and global Finance stakeholders, including Corporate Finance, Treasury, Tax, Accounting and Forex teams.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, financial advisors, tax advisors and other external partners.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
- MBA in Finance is desirable.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 15 years of relevant Finance experience.
- More than 5 years in a senior Finance leadership position.
- Strong experience in financial management, planning, controllership and business partnering.
- Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical business.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to support business decisions and negotiations.
Technical Knowledge
Experience or specialized knowledge in areas such as:
- FP&A and financial planning
- Controllership and accounting
- Tax
- Treasury and foreign exchange
- Internal controls and compliance
- Working capital and cash flow management
- M&A and strategic investments
Experience in treasury/foreign exchange, tax, controllership and M&A will be considered a strong advantage.
