Role Description:

This role will be a close partner to business and local representative of American and Brazil payroll. In this role, the payroll specialist supports payroll and compliance process and procedure. The Payroll specialist is also the main contact point for associate inquiries, reporting, as well as third party communication.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g. employees, HR teams etc.) and external payroll vendors to complete timely and accurate full payroll calculation, payment and statutory reporting;

2. Work closely with local vendors to process new hires, terminations, employee maintenance in government systems in a timely and accurate manner;

3. Performing monthly closing activities including journal booking, account reconciliation and follow up with high quality and efficiency;

4. Maintain and update the internal payroll system to ensure the system run smoothly and support business needs;

5. Receive new requirements and modify system accordingly, liaise with system engineer for complex changes;

6. Contribute to harmonization and improvement activities, making sure that all requirements for the respective countries are kept;

7. Monitor processes for continuous improvement opportunities; work out proposals, align and update affected processes;

8. Create and maintain all knowledge in the internally shared Docs, FAQ, SOP, common area to drive transparency for all stakeholders to access and enable for process efficiency;

9. Key 'Go to' person and fully engaged with stakeholders on all service escalation and improvement;

10. Lead monthly Service Issue Log calls with outsource suppliers.

 

Basic Qualifications:

1.  Bachelor's degree or above;

2. 3+ years' experiences in payroll operations, especially in accounting firm;

3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & Portuguese, and Mandarin would be a plus;

4. Proficient in Microsoft Excel;

5. Workplace is preferred in Brazil.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of tax laws and statutory contribution requirements in the APAC/LATAM region;

2. Have a proactive & positive attitude towards global payroll tasks, process improvements and changes;

3. Ability to work in a fast-moving, ambitious and matrix organization;

4. High attention to detail, with accuracy as a consistent trademark for all deliverables;

5. Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
