Software Engineer (Big data)

Location: São Paulo, Brazil Remote

⏱️ Duration: 6 months (contract with potential extension)

Compensation: 2,200 monthly as FTE with all the statutary benefits


What You’ll Do

  • Build Pinner-facing features across the Pinterest backend application.
  • Contribute to the full product lifecycle: requirements, development, A/B testing, and launch validation.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and client teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.
  • Write reliable, maintainable, and high-quality code supported by automated testing.
  • Work with world-class engineers on high-impact, large-scale systems.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of backend engineering experience (Java strongly preferred; Python a plus).
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies: Hadoop, Spark, MapReduce, or other distributed processing frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of backend fundamentals—REST APIs, storage, caching, distributed systems.
  • Ability to clearly explain system designs, architecture, and product implications.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience building consumer or business-facing products at scale.
  • Nice to have: Power BI or Big Data tooling exposure, automation experience.
