Location: 100% Remote in LATAM

Salary Range: $1,000 - $1,300 USD Monthly

Working hours: Full-time; starting between 7:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. EST


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a strong background in QuickBooks to join our remote team. In this role, you will have opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the company, with the potential to assume greater responsibilities and engage in client-facing roles over time.


On a typical day, you will:

  • Handle daily bookkeeping tasks, including bank and payroll reconciliations.
  • Perform critical matching of transactions, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare and share financial reports, collaborating closely with senior accounting staff.
  • Engage in the vouchering process for various grants, ensuring compliance with specific rules and maintaining comprehensive records.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations and ensure accurate categorization and matching of transactions in QuickBooks.
  • Prepare, review, and share financial reports, addressing any discrepancies or anomalies.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and maintain meticulous records in Canopy task software.
  • Perform vouchering processes, including filling out Excel sheets with backup documentation, ensuring data accuracy, and staying within budget constraints.
  • Communicate regularly with senior accountants, report progress on tasks, and address any issues or uncertainties promptly.
  • Support critical financial functions by maintaining detailed records and verifying the accuracy of client-provided information.
  • Adhere to client requirements and ensure timely submission of financial documentation.


Requirements:

  • Advanced level of English language with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience with QuickBooks and Excel.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to identify and rectify discrepancies independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to critically assess financial data.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Confidence to communicate openly about task progress and challenges.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, including Google Drive and Google Sheets.
