Product Development Engineer

1s1 Energy seeks an experienced engineer to support the product development of its next-generation water electrolyzer. This position is based in Campinas, SP, Brazil, and will report directly to 1s1 Energy's global VP of Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Help transition technology to a commercial product.
  • Design and assemble water electrolysis balance of plant (i.e., the mechanical, thermal, fluidics, and control aspects).
  • Support the development and integration of the control software for the complete water electrolyzer system.
  • Support regulatory or certification applications and compliance of products with national codes and standards.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Process, or Chemical (if experienced in building test set ups) Engineering.
  • 3-5+ years of industry experience in product development, including designing and assembling equipment for controlled chemical processes.
  • Experience with documentation, maintenance, and verification processes.
  • Strong proficiency in English.
  • Desired: experience with hydrogen systems (ideally electrolyzers/fuel cells).
  • Desired: experience with pressurized fluid systems.
  • Desired: Experience with Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) or alternative safety analysis methods.

Compensation

  • Above market salary and equity incentives, based on qualifications, skills, relevant education or training, and experience.
  • Possibility of travelling to 1s1 Energy's locations in the US and Portugal.
