Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and implementation of advanced automation solutions for nuclear operations, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and process control applicationsOversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing automation systems to ensure maximum reliability and uptimeProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff on automation best practices and technologiesCollaborate with nuclear operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to identify automation opportunities that enhance safety, efficiency, and regulatory complianceDevelop and maintain complex control logic, HMI/SCADA interfaces, and data acquisition systems for critical nuclear plant processesLead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for automation system failures or performance issuesEnsure all automation systems comply with NRC regulations, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, and nuclear quality assurance requirementsManage automation projects from concept through commissioning, including scope definition, budgeting, and schedule managementDevelop and maintain comprehensive documentation including design specifications, system architectures, maintenance procedures, and training materialsImplement cybersecurity measures for industrial control systems in accordance with NRC and NERC CIP requirementsEvaluate emerging automation technologies and lead continuous improvement initiativesSupport outage planning and execution for automation system upgrades and modificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field7+ years of experience in industrial automation with focus on development and maintenanceExpert-level knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar), DCS, and SCADA systemsStrong programming skills in ladder logic, structured text, function block diagrams, and scripting languages (Python, VBA)Demonstrated experience leading automation projects in regulated or safety-critical environmentsDeep understanding of instrumentation, control theory, and process automationAbility to obtain and maintain security clearance for nuclear facility accessExcellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilitiesStrong leadership, communication, and project management skills What do we offer?
