About the Opportunity:

We are supporting one of our valued clients in their search for a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to support critical infrastructure initiatives in a hybrid cloud environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional who thrives in dynamic settings and is passionate about cloud migrations, DevOps automation, and infrastructure reliability.

This position is fully remote, with flexibility for consultants managing parallel engagements, provided they are available during key business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available AWS infrastructure using VPC, subnets, NAT gateways, VPNs, and route tables.
  • Define and enforce IAM policies and least-privilege roles in line with cloud security best practices.
  • Lead virtual machine migrations from on-premise environments to AWS using tools such as CloudEndure or AWS Migration Hub.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket, integrating with AWS CodePipeline or Jenkins for automated deployments.
  • Plan and execute SQL/NoSQL database migrations to services like AWS RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
  • Build and maintain DevOps automation frameworks using Terraform, CloudFormation, and configuration tools like Ansible, Chef, or AWS Systems Manager.
  • Design and operate hybrid backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring secure replication across environments.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and security using AWS-native and third-party tools.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Security, Development, Operations) to support seamless cloud adoption and integration.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to networking, IAM, and deployment workflows across hybrid systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 3–7 years of hands-on experience designing and supporting AWS infrastructure.
  • Strong command of AWS services: EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, Route 53, AWS Backup.
  • Advanced knowledge of VPC networking, including NAT gateways, VPNs, Direct Connect, and Transit Gateway configurations.
  • Proficiency in Bitbucket, Git, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, and related DevOps tools.
  • Demonstrated success migrating workloads (VMs and databases) from on-prem to AWS.
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and security compliance in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, Shell).
  • Awareness of industry security standards (HIPAA, SOC2, ISO 27001).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or SysOps Administrator.
  • Experience with containerization tools (Docker, ECS, EKS) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or extended CloudWatch configurations.
