We are looking for Automation Architect, who wants to learn and transform his career.
Key Responsibilities
Define and maintain the enterprise automation architecture strategy for nuclear operations, including control systems, SCADA, data integration, and emerging technologies
Lead the evaluation, selection, and standardization of automation platforms, tools, and technologies across the nuclear fleet
Design comprehensive automation frameworks that integrate PLCs, DCS, SCADA, historians, MES, and enterprise systems while maintaining safety and security
Provide strategic technical leadership for major automation initiatives, digital transformation projects, and plant modernization efforts
Develop automation standards, design patterns, and best practices that ensure consistency, scalability, and compliance across all nuclear facilities
Collaborate with nuclear leadership, operations, engineering, IT, and cybersecurity teams to align automation strategy with business objectives and regulatory requirements
Architect solutions that incorporate advanced technologies including AI/ML, digital twins, edge computing, and predictive analytics into nuclear operations
Ensure automation architectures comply with NRC regulations, 10 CFR requirements, NERC CIP standards, and nuclear cybersecurity protocols
Lead technical assessments and due diligence for automation system upgrades, replacements, and vendor selections
Mentor and guide automation engineers and architects across the organization, fostering technical excellence and innovation
Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and system reliability through automation
Represent Next Era Energy in industry forums, working groups, and partnerships related to nuclear automation and digital transformation Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
10+ years of experience in industrial automation with significant experience in architecture and strategic roles
Deep expertise in automation technologies including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, historians, and industrial communication protocols
Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale automation architectures in complex environments
Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, data architectures, and cloud/hybrid infrastructure
Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles for industrial control systems and operational technology
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for nuclear facility access
Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing at all organizational levels
