Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Application Engineer to join our team and provide technical support for our industrial control products. The Application Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of our products in various industrial settings. This position requires a strong technical background in industrial control systems, excellent problem - solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross - functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support
- Provide on - site and remote technical support to customers during the installation, commissioning, and operation of industrial control products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of common issues and solutions to facilitate faster resolution of customer inquiries.
- Product Implementation
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide technical guidance on product selection and configuration.
- Assist in the development of project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
- Oversee the installation and integration of industrial control products with existing systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Customer Training
- Conduct training sessions for customers and end - users on the proper use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial control products.
- Develop training materials, including user manuals, quick - start guides, and video tutorials, to enhance customer understanding and product adoption.
- Product Improvement
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for product improvement and innovation.
- Work closely with R & D and product management teams to communicate technical insights and contribute to the development of new features and enhancements.
- Documentation
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including installation guides, configuration manuals, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Ensure that all documentation is accurate, up - to - date, and easily accessible to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical support or application engineering role, preferably in the industrial control or automation industry.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing and supporting industrial control products in complex environments.
- Technical Skills
- In - depth knowledge of industrial control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMI (Human - Machine Interface), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and industrial networks (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in industrial automation, such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and standards, such as OPC (OLE for Process Control) and IEC 61131 - 3.
- Experience with industrial software applications, such as configuration tools, diagnostic software, and simulation software.
