Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $87,000.00/yr

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer with strong experience in FHIR to join a fast-growing US-based health tech company. This is a hybrid position based in Buenos Aires, with 2 in-office days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays in Puerto Madero).

This role is ideal for someone passionate about transforming the healthcare industry through scalable, high-impact software.

What you'll do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java-based applications and systems
  • Lead and participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
  • Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability

Requirements

What we're looking for:
  • 6+ years of experience in Java software development
  • Proven experience with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) is a plus, but not required
  • Proficiency with Spring Framework, Maven, and OOP principles
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and best practices
  • Hands-on experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Advanced English (both spoken and written)
  • Willingness to work hybrid: 2 days on-site in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires

Nice to have:
  • Experience with HL7, CDA, IHE standards
  • Background in healthcare systems or digital health platforms
  • Experience with microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active tech communities

Location & Schedule:
  • Hybrid: 2 on-site days per week in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires
  • Full-time, long-term role
