Accounting Manager, Kuiper Revenue LATAM

Amazon is a fast-paced, dynamic, high-tech company. The LATAM Accounting organization supports our financial reporting, controllership, internal controls, and new business launches in the region.

We are currently seeking a manager-level candidate to support business growth at Amazon's Sao Paulo, Brazil office. Successful candidates may have held managerial accounting, controllership, or finance positions in public or private companies and demonstrated experience leading teams to accomplish complex challenges.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Manage the period-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of revenue and AR accounting entries and reconciliations.
  2. Manage project timelines and requirements for new launches.
  3. Perform analytical reviews of balances and provide insights into balance sheet account movements to support cash flow reporting.
  4. Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and serve as the first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues.
  5. Ensure effective collaboration across organizations with teams such as Legal, Tax, and Business.
  6. Drive controllership initiatives and solutions.
Qualifications
  • Experience in tax, finance, or related analytical fields.
  • Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in applying KPIs to analyses.
  • Experience building financial and operational reports to inform decision-making.
  • Experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
  • Participation in continuous improvement projects with measurable results.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL and experience with data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • Experience delivering forecasts, budgets, variance analyses, and interpreting data.
  • Ability to identify incomplete or inaccurate data, determine root causes, and implement escalation plans.
  • Proven ability to solve complex business challenges with accurate financial models and analyses that impact business positively.
  • CPA or MBA qualification.
