Responsibilities
  • Review medical records and interpret ECGs and laboratory results to assess risk for insurance applicants
  • Provide consultative support for the Underwriting Team and develop medical underwriting guidelines
  • Collaborate with underwriters to determine appropriate risk categories based on applicants\' medical histories
  • Contribute to regulatory and compliance efforts, driving workflow optimization through technology
  • Teach and guide underwriters on medical impairments and industry standards
Qualifications
  • Medical degree (MD/DO or equivalent) and licensed to practice in a U.S. state
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience with excellent clinical knowledge
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Commitment to pursuing board certification in Insurance Medicine for those new to the industry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Experience as a life insurance Medical Director
  • Certification in other medical specialties will be considered
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with data analytics
