São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil SAP Tempo integral R$ 80.000 - R$ 120.000 Contrato

Purpose and Objectives

Join an innovative, collaborative development environment and help shape secure data access and connectivity capabilities as part of SAP's Big Data Fabric Services (BDFS). We are looking for a Platform Engineering Expert to help shape the next generation of SAP Data Accelerator and related BDFS platform capabilities across architecture, engineering execution, and production readiness. We do not work as data scientists analyzing or extracting data directly. We build the platform capabilities that make this possible.

The Product

SAP Data Accelerator focuses on secure partner connectivity and access to SAP business data across SAP ERP and LoB applications in on‑premise, private cloud, and public cloud landscapes. This work sits within the broader BDFS portfolio, which enables SAP Lines of Business and customers to enter the world of big data more easily. BDFS delivers platform capabilities such as Apache Spark as a service, multi‑language data processing on Kubernetes‑based infrastructure, and access to hyperscaler‑agnostic data sources using the Delta Sharing protocol on top of the HANA Data Lake File Service (HDLFS). As the product evolves through future phases, the scope expands from secure connectivity into broader API‑driven and platform‑managed data access capabilities.

What You'll Do

As a Platform Engineering Expert, you will contribute across design, coding, testing, operability, and quality assurance in a development team, while also helping shape architecture and technical direction. You will assess and solve issues in new or existing code and work with high attention to detail, reliability, and efficiency. You will collaborate closely with your team members and stakeholders to ensure success.

In Your Day‑to‑day, Your Tasks Will Be

  • Work on design, coding, and quality assurance tasks related to strategic product capabilities.
  • Drive platform decisions that balance security, scalability, operability, and product evolution across current and future phases.
  • Development activities in Java, Python, and Go, with Rust as a plus.
  • Work in an agile team that uses the Scrum framework to self‑organize and work towards development goals.
  • Mentor and guide the team to foster professional development and engineering excellence.
  • Support the team on technical discussions, architecture topics, and platform direction.
  • Help build PoCs, evaluate technical options, and drive important engineering decisions.

What You Bring

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in any of the following areas: Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering.
  • Advanced or fluent English.
  • Excellent programming skills and knowledge of algorithms, data structures, space, and run‑time complexity (Big‑O notation).
  • Strong hands‑on expertise in Java, Python, and/or Go in cloud‑native and Kubernetes‑based environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues leveraging technical and product skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to continuously learn both new technologies and business processes.

Platform, security, and operability

  • Strong expertise in networking concepts relevant to distributed systems, secure partner connectivity, and cloud environments.
  • Strong command of secure connectivity and platform engineering patterns, including OAuth 2.0, mTLS, multi‑tenant service design, and proxy or tunnel‑based architectures.
  • Strong background in production hardening, SRE practices, observability, and scalable multi‑tenant service operation.
  • Experience with observability practices including metrics, tracing, health checks, alerting, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience with scalability, autoscaling, capacity management, and performance tuning for distributed services.
  • Experience with secure software engineering, threat modeling, and automated testing across unit, integration, end‑to‑end, and scale scenarios.
  • Knowledge of AI‑assisted and agentic engineering tools, and the ability to use them effectively across the software development lifecycle.

SAP and platform architecture

  • Strong expertise in SAP backend integration, including SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA), the NetWeaver stack, and related extensibility patterns.
  • Experience shaping technical direction for secure partner connectivity and SAP data access scenarios.
  • Experience designing API‑driven platform capabilities such as self‑service enrollment, endpoint discovery, connection and session management, capacity management, or related control‑plane workflows.
  • Experience shaping control‑plane and data‑plane architectures for secure, scalable enterprise data access.
