We are looking for a Senior Electrical MEP Designer / Engineer to join a U.S.-based architecture and engineering team supporting commercial building projects across the United States.
This is a senior, hands-on production role. The right person should be able to take a project from architectural backgrounds and design criteria through coordinated electrical construction documents with limited supervision.
The team works in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects moving simultaneously, so this role requires someone who is technically strong, highly organized, responsive, and comfortable producing accurate work quickly.
This is not primarily a BIM coordination or project management position. We are looking for someone who is still actively designing and producing electrical building systems in Revit.
What You’ll Do
- Independently develop electrical designs for commercial building projects.
- Produce electrical construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Design power and lighting systems, including:
- Load calculations
- Panel schedules
- Branch circuits
- Feeder and conductor sizing
- Breaker and protection selection
- Power distribution
- Lighting and receptacle layouts
- Equipment connections
- Single-line diagrams
- Grounding and related electrical systems
- Coordinate electrical systems with architecture, mechanical, plumbing, structural, and other disciplines.
- Take projects through design development, construction documents, permitting, revisions, and issuance.
- Review drawings and calculations for technical accuracy and code compliance.
- Resolve coordination issues, RFIs, comments, and design revisions efficiently.
- Manage several projects at different stages while meeting deadlines and planned design hours.
- Communicate directly and clearly with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team members.
- Support or review the work of junior designers when necessary while remaining personally involved in production.
- Identify issues early and work independently to keep projects moving.
