Role Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Eqvista, Inc., you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend systems that power our equity management platform. You will work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to build robust and efficient backend solutions. Your expertise in backend development will be crucial in delivering high-quality, scalable, and reliable systems that support our platform's functionality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that support the functionality of our equity management platform, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
• System Architecture: Contribute to the architecture and design of backend systems, including database schemas, API structures, and integration points with other services.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize backend performance, including improving response times, throughput, and overall system efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and other team members to gather requirements, define features, and deliver solutions that meet user needs and align with the product vision.
• Testing and Debugging: Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks for backend services. Debug and resolve issues to ensure a high-quality and reliable system.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for backend code, APIs, and systems to support team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and improve our backend systems.
• Compliance: Ensure that backend systems adhere to relevant regulations and industry standards, including data privacy and security requirements.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable and high-performance backend systems.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in backend technologies and programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, Node.js, or similar. Experience with frameworks and libraries relevant to backend development.
• Database Knowledge: Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL), including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.
• API Development: Experience with RESTful APIs and knowledge of API design principles and best practices.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and challenges.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree or relevant certifications preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with equity management or financial services technology.
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
