Overview

Amazon Brazil is looking for a dynamic vendor manager to play an important role within the Retail team by adding selection, analyzing business data, driving vendor performance, negotiating terms and handling promotions. As a vendor manager, you will report to the head of vendor management and develop relationships with several of our key vendors and partners. You will work with Brazilian and global vendors to drive all aspects of terms improvements, which includes analysis and projections, as well as direct negotiations with decision makers in local vendors. Additionally, you will increase product category sales by driving store marketing promotions, negotiating partners to improve selection, and reacting to industry-related economic trends.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication, the ability to analyze and communicate complex terms and margin structure, and you will work well across other teams including Finance and Inventory Management. Candidates who are organized, flexible, creative, analytical, and able to drive negotiations through completion will be highly appreciated. Responsibilities
  • Retail Managers focus on and act at the intersection of customers, vendors, and functional teams: customers—rely on specialized teams for customer and category information and insights, work with and influence other teams to address category-specific customer needs, and maintain category-specific knowledge about customers, trends, and market evolution.
  • Vendors—RM are the ultimate owners of the vendor relationship, focusing on top vendors that drive majority of sales, auditing and escalating performance, improving terms and cost structures through negotiation, and developing long-term partnerships to drive topline and category growth.
  • Central and functional teams—represent customer and business needs in interactions with central teams, projects and initiatives; drive evolution of customer-facing and internal systems and implement centrally driven initiatives to improve CX or cost, prioritizing impact and tradeoffs and pushing back when needed.
  • A day in the life responsibilities include owning the Retail business end-to-end for subcategories or vendor groups, managing P&L from topline to free cash flow, driving selection, securing great prices, increasing convenience/speed to accelerate Amazon's flywheel, and auditing/escalating the performance of lower-tier vendors.
Qualifications
  • Team management experience
  • Account management, project or program management, or buying experience
  • Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management
  • Master's degree
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions
  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management
  • Experience managing large data sets and utilizing them to drive performance and process improvements
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
