Position Summary
The Team Lead – SAP AMS is responsible for leading the delivery of SAP Application Management Services (AMS) across a complex SAP environment. This role oversees a team of SAP functional and technical consultants, ensuring high-quality support, issue resolution, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to ensure SAP applications remain stable, efficient, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SAP AMS consultants and analysts.
- Manage team workload, priorities, and performance to ensure service excellence.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, and results-driven culture.
- Support employee development through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.
SAP AMS Service Delivery
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of SAP support services across multiple SAP modules.
- Ensure incidents, problems, and service requests are resolved within agreed SLAs.
- Coordinate and manage critical production issues and escalations.
- Monitor service performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary contact for business users and key stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with business functions and IT partners.
- Provide regular service updates, reporting, and performance reviews.
- Manage customer expectations and ensure high levels of user satisfaction.
Change and Enhancement Management
- Assess and prioritize enhancement requests and system improvements.
- Coordinate testing, deployment, and post-go-live support activities.
- Ensure appropriate documentation, governance, and change control processes are followed.
- Support SAP upgrades, releases, and transformation initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive process optimization and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for automation and support model improvements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
- Promote ITIL best practices across incident, problem, and change management processes.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and SAP security standards.
- Maintain accurate support documentation and knowledge repositories.
- Contribute to risk management and business continuity planning activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of SAP support experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong experience working within SAP AMS or production support environments.
- Solid understanding of SAP ERP and/or SAP S/4HANA ecosystems.
- Experience managing incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Knowledge of ITIL service management methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP certification in one or more SAP functional or technical modules.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Experience supporting global or multi-country SAP environments.
- Knowledge of SAP integration technologies, Fiori, and SAP Basis concepts.
