Position Overview
MSA Asia is looking for a Payroll Support Specialist to assist companies that outsource the payroll administration of their Asian entities to us.
Working remotely from Latin America, you will support client HR and finance teams with payroll calculations, employee payments, statutory deductions, employer contributions, reimbursements, and payroll-related billing. You will work closely with our accounting, payroll, and local compliance teams to ensure that payroll is processed accurately and in accordance with the requirements of each Asian jurisdiction.
The role requires strong numerical accuracy, clear client communication, and the ability to investigate payroll discrepancies across different countries, currencies, and employment systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to payroll enquiries from client HR and finance teams concerning salaries, deductions, employer contributions, reimbursements, benefits, and payment dates.
- Support the monthly payroll process for companies operating their own legal entities across Asia.
- Review payroll inputs, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, leave, expenses, and other employee adjustments.
- Reconcile gross-to-net payroll reports against funding requests, employee payment files, and client invoices.
- Investigate discrepancies involving payroll calculations, exchange rates, statutory deductions, employer costs, or employee payments.
- Coordinate with MSA Asia’s accounting, finance, and local payroll teams to resolve payroll issues and meet monthly processing deadlines.
- Provide clients with clear breakdowns of payroll costs and explanations of country-specific deductions and contributions.
- Maintain accurate records of payroll instructions, approvals, amendments, and completed payments.
- Help improve internal payroll procedures, reporting templates, and client communication processes.
Key Qualifications
- Two to four or more years of experience in payroll administration, payroll support, accounting, billing, or a related finance role.
- Previous experience with outsourced payroll, accounting services, or multi-country payroll operations is preferred.
- A strong understanding of gross-to-net payroll calculations, statutory deductions, employer contributions, and payroll reconciliations.
- Experience reviewing payroll reports and identifying numerical or billing discrepancies.
- Familiarity with foreign-exchange calculations and payments involving multiple currencies.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under recurring monthly deadlines.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- The ability to explain payroll and accounting matters clearly to clients who may not have specialist knowledge.
- A professional, organised, and service-oriented approach to client support.
