About the Role

TSC Subsea is looking for an innovative and analytical Acoustic Engineer to support the development, testing, and deployment of our proprietary Acoustic Resonance Technology (ART) inspection systems. This role combines engineering development, laboratory testing, data analysis, and offshore inspection support. The successful candidate will work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and inspection specialists to enhance ART solutions used for subsea asset integrity and inspection projects worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer passionate about acoustics, signal processing, and technology development who wants to contribute to cutting-edge inspection solutions for the offshore energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • ART System Development & Testing
    • Support the design, development, and optimization of ART inspection systems and transducer configurations.
    • Perform laboratory testing, calibration, verification, and validation of acoustic inspection equipment.
    • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), tool integration activities, and performance evaluations.
    • Assist with the deployment and operational support of ART-based inspection technologies.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze acoustic resonance data collected during offshore inspections and laboratory testing.
    • Apply signal processing techniques to identify material characteristics, anomalies, and defects.
    • Produce high-quality technical reports, inspection summaries, and client deliverables.
    • Provide technical feedback to offshore teams to improve data acquisition quality and inspection outcomes.
  • Collaboration & Technical Support
    • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and inspection engineers on tool development projects.
    • Participate in technical reviews, engineering discussions, and client meetings where acoustic expertise is required.
    • Support continuous improvement of inspection methodologies, analysis workflows, and reporting processes.
  • Quality, Compliance & HSE
    • Ensure all ART activities comply with company QA/QC requirements and client specifications.
    • Support certification, audit, and compliance activities as required.
    • Follow Company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement and environmentally responsible working practices.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in:
    • Acoustics
    • Physics
    • Or a related technical discipline
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in acoustic engineering or related technical fields.
  • Experience with acoustic measurements, resonance testing, and calibration methodologies.
  • Proficiency in signal processing and data analysis tools such as:
    • MATLAB
    • C#
    • Python
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience preparing technical reports and presenting findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in NDT, subsea inspection, offshore engineering, or asset integrity.
  • Familiarity with inspection technologies and sensor-based diagnostic systems.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC systems, ISO standards, and inspection processes.
  • Experience supporting offshore operations or field testing activities.
