What You'll Do:- Analyze costs and benefits of various process solutions and select optimum design cases for the system and the equipment.
- Perform process simulations and calculations, write process specifications, and provide accurate process data to support compressors, air chiller, adsorption systems, distillation columns, cold boxes, control valves, relief valves, manual valves, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, pipeline measurement equipment, analyzers, silencers, cooling towers, and other air separation equipment components specifications and purchasing.
- Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Heat and Material Balances (HMB).
- Participate in P&ID development, HAZOP, plant commissioning and start-up, technical risk analysis, safety and environmental assessments and documentation, ASU troubleshooting and investigations.
- Ensure successful completion of assigned project phases on schedule and within budget.
- Review technical aspects of vendor equipment proposals.
- Review and check project specific drawings and data sheets to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards.
- Participate in the development and implementation of process performance test specifications for air separation plants.
- Interface with customers and suppliers as required.
- Stay current with new process technologies and industry best practices.
- Assist in developing department best practices, processes, procedures, tools, and standard specifications.
- Collect and maintain Lessons Learned logs and support continuous improvement efforts.
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum five years of experience in Cryogenic or Non-Cryogenic Air Separation industries.
- Experience in developing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Heat and Material Balances.
- Knowledge of process simulators.
- Understanding of process equipment sizing, material selection, and utility calculations.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
- Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
