**Sales Assistant**

**The Role**

A Sales Assistant is part of the Sales Operations team and is mainly responsible for:

- Issuing quotations and order confirmations in a timely manner that match the real need of the customer
- Ensuring that quotations and order confirmations are technically/technologically validated.
- Ensuring that the sales operations’ milestones in the sales process are met
- Accurate accounting for the costs of an order (pre-calculation)
- In the Poultry organization; minimizing the difference between the pre and post calculation and being able to report back the difference, with the goal of 0% difference

The Sales Assistant carries the responsibilities above for providing accurate sales quotations and sales orders of standalone machines which generally can be sold through the sales channels of different business units. The Assistant is able to lead risk level 1 and or simple Level 2 activities and may also be asked to support other risk level 2 opportunities for which another sales engineer is in the lead. The Assistant coordinates the sales support for projects with a project values generally less than 200 k. Responsibilities also include challenging the input from the sales execution employees but limited to standalone machines and completeness of information and acting as the gatekeeper of the input that flows to the technical and delivery processes. The sales engineer III is responsible for coordinating activities to get the right output at the right moment during the sales process. Will work with a small group of stakeholders to develop quotations.

The Sales Assistant has basic knowledge of the product portfolio and has basic understanding of the Marel’s business processes and how inputs affect outputs across the organization. The Sales Assistant is able to have a basic understanding of the customer processes and achieve a balance between technical and commercial aspects.

**What you’ll be doing**

Responsibilities may include and is not exhaustive:

- Responsible for translating an inquiry/question from the market (by either an AM, ISM, RSD or and/or SD) into a quote or order confirmation, enabling the quotation process
- Responsible for providing quotations, and order confirmations, preparing order confirmation documentation and invoicing
- Work in compliance with the internal sales process from market to order and order to cash, including change orders)
- Able to assess the completeness of the input from the front line sales team
- Responsible for monitoring the preliminary costing and the pre-calculated project margin for standard products

**Main Tasks**
- Responsible for translating an inquiry/question from the market (by either an AM, ISM, RSD or and/or SD) into a quote or order confirmation, enabling the quotation process
- Responsible for providing quotations, and order confirmations, preparing order confirmation documentation and invoicing
- Work in compliance with the internal sales process from market to order and order to cash, including change orders)
- Able to assess the completeness of the input from the front line sales team
- Responsible for monitoring the preliminary costing and the pre-calculated project margin for standard products
- Responsible for coordinating review and kick off meetings in order to internally review quotes and functional specifications
- Supply the correct input to generate the order specification
- Internally verify delivery times and credit status during the sales phase (MTO)
- Responsible for accuracy of the data in Salesforce, related to the sales opportunities

**What we’re looking for**
- College level of education with the desire to develop in Engineering/Commercial environment
- Strong English skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with and comfort working in a multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization
- Basic knowledge of product portfolio
- Commercial drive/attitude
- Technical savvy
- Basic organizational skills
- Communication skills needed to collaborate with small groups of stakeholders.
