
WHS Delivery Station Manager

The WHS Delivery Station Manager will be responsible for 5 to 7 Delivery Stations to execute company Safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our Associates.
The WHS Delivery Station Manager must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
The WHS Delivery Station Manager must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. This individual must instruct and train Operations Leaders in company WHS policies and assist the regional teams in incorporating our WHS standards at their sites.
The WHS Delivery Station Manager will be required to identify best practices and incorporate these best practices into our standards to continuously improve company Safety policies.
The WHS Delivery Station Manager will be required to possess WHS program and relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge and demonstrates this expertise when working with Operations.
The WHS Delivery Station Managerr will be responsible to lead a team of WHS Officers in their region. This individual must create and execute leadership development plans for their WHS Associates on their team. They must communicate safety team expectations and give frequent and appropriate feedback to their WHS teams and ensure they are executing to the core competencies of an Amazon professional. This individual must also demonstrate the ability to judge and assess WHS talent and select appropriate bench strength to current and future business needs.
Key job responsibilities
• Manage overall compliance with local requirements and authorities.
• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies and regulatory requirements
• Measure the regions and sites’ performance against published requirements in WHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies.
• Ensure WHS recordkeeping and data integrity and provides Operations with accurate reporting and metrics to support business WHS initiatives.
• Deliver on-time and quality projects to Operations. Deliver quality projects on time to Operations.
• Analyze WHS metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest.
• Audit recordkeeping practices and Global WHS Database entries to ensure compliance to global WHS standards and local regulations.
• Audit the workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.
• Manage and mentor the region WHS Officers and WHS Associates in your assigned sites.
• Spend time at the sortation centers, and delivery stations, and seek input from WHS teams, Associates and leaders on WHS program improvement opportunities.
• Ensure open communication on status of progress and resolution against these suggestions.
• Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required WHS training.
• Review for effectiveness the deployed WHS tools and revise to ensure continual improvement.
• Partner with corporate and other regional field WHS personnel to leverage global WHS standards.Bachelors Degree;
Experience in WHS programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations;
Knowledge of Brazilian Regulations and Technical Standards;
Experience designing and implementing WHS policy, processes and procedural documentation;
Experience in People Management;
Available to work flexible shifts including days, nights and/or weekends;
English skills.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental, Ergonomics or a related field required;
Mobility to Brazil regions;
Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort collaborating with site leaders; Exhibit excellent root cause analysis, problem solving, training skills and attention to detail;
Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy;
The credibility and influencing skills and strategies to be able to build buy-in to change.
