Project Overview This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project finance and transaction advisory professional to support the establishment, launch and early delivery of the Brazil Project Preparation Facility (PPF). The Financial Review Lead is responsible for converting project information into robust financial and transaction analysis that supports progression from initial bankability assessment to an investor-ready capital structure and, where applicable, transaction execution. The role provides operational support across the financial and transaction advisory workstream, works closely with the Financial & Transactions Advisory Analyst team, and ensures that project economics, financing assumptions, capital structures, blended-finance options and investor requirements are assessed consistently across the active pipeline. During the September 2026 to February 2027 pre-launch phase, the role will support the establishment and launch of the facility by reviewing project information, translating it into financial models and contributing to the financial assessment of submissions. Scope of Work
- Lead the financial and transaction advisory workstream and support the analyst team, providing coordination and quality control across the active pipeline.
- Translate project information into bankable financial models and analysis covering project economics, revenues, development, capital and operating costs, financing scenarios, sensitivities and assumptions.
- Identify financial and bankability gaps and determine the financing requirements needed to progress projects toward final investment decision readiness.
- Develop and review capital structures, ensuring that financing assumptions remain consistent with project design, operating parameters, costs, performance and technical risks.
- Design blended and concessional finance solutions, including first-loss provisions, guarantees, subordinated debt, results-based finance and other appropriate de-risking instruments.
- Map eligible MDB, bilateral and climate-fund sources and structure concessional participation to maximise additionality, minimise market distortion and preserve commercial co-financing.
- Assess projects against DFI and institutional-investor criteria, appraisal methodologies and documentation requirements, and oversee investor-facing financial materials.
- Coordinate financial outputs with technical and transaction advisory inputs, maintaining consistency across the capital stack, blended-finance instruments and transaction documentation.
- Oversee the transition from financial structuring into transaction execution, including transaction structuring, documentation, investor engagement, market sounding and negotiation support through financial close.
- Support the financial review of submissions under the agreed application process, whether single-stage or two-stage, without assuming project-approval authority. Consultant Profile
- Significant professional experience in project finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, development finance, infrastructure finance or a comparable financial advisory role.
- Demonstrable experience developing and reviewing complex project financial models, including revenue, cost, financing, sensitivity and scenario analysis.
- Strong understanding of project bankability, capital structuring, commercial financing and the requirements of institutional investors and lenders.
- Experience designing or assessing blended-finance and concessional-finance structures and appropriate de-risking instruments.
