Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for our Brazil Business Unit Leader. This leader will guide the strategic growth of the established Brazil offices in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro by leading efforts to identify, capture and complete projects in the ports, marine terminal, coastal, water resources/stormwater, transportation, energy, environmental, national, state, local, and urban development markets.  The best candidate for this role will lead the team to: Achieve Moffatt & Nichol and client objectives; enhance client and employee satisfaction through effective business unit operations; Ensure staff management and development;  Deploy and manage project resources, including subconsultants, vendors; and  Provide oversight of project phases (planning, set-up, execution, and closure) while in conformance with M&N business and client contract requirements.  Coordinate with the various M&N practices and Region Operations Manager to identify additional markets and potential office locations within Brazil.  Development staffing strategy, staffing levels and organizational structure. Lead the Business Unit to achieve Key Performance Indicators Identify, evaluate, and pursue approved business and market opportunitiesDevelop and direct execution of strategy for office growth and staff resource expansionDevelop an Annual Operating Plan and Budget for the Brazil Business Unit, and manage the Business Unit to achieve planned resultsEstablish and manage a project portfolio and coordinate with other Business Unit Leaders (BULs) to facilitate work share and mutual achievement of financial resultsAssist in promoting company-wide services across Brazil and related marketsWork with Project Managers (PM’s) and key staff in the preparation of comprehensive scopes of services with associated consulting fees; negotiate scope/fees with public and private sector clients Advise M&N on local business climate and trends, opportunities, changes in local A-E consulting practices (laws, rules, regulations, licensing, taxes), politics, and other issues pertinent to business operationsEnsure M&N policies, procedures, and any applicable legislation and regulations are communicated, understood, and implemented within the Business Unit Ensure Business Unit compliance to Moffatt & Nichol Quality Management InitiativesProvide a safe and secure work environment by effectively managing the facilityNegotiate and execute corporate documents and other binding instrumentsIdentify obstacles to success and participate in improvement initiativesIdentify project pursuits and develop capture plans leading to successful project wins Lead and ensure all projects and project managers meet Key Performance Indicators Review and approve project approach, plan, schedule, and budget with PMsConduct client debriefs at designated project milestones; resolve elevated client concerns or demands not addressed by the PM Mentor, guide, advise, and ensure PMs accountability for project performance and deliverables, assist with assignment requests and approve project team assignmentsParticipate in significant Project Reviews, review Project Progress Reports, and direct appropriate changes Ensure that Quality Control is implemented and managed in accordance with contracts and Project PlansApprove Subcontracting Plans and verify that candidate subconsultants will likely result in achievement of subcontracting goalsApprove selection of subconsultantsCoordinate with Business Development staff and other M&N groups to manage client relationships and satisfactionEnsure that pursuit opportunities align with objectives of the firm, approve pursuit and proposal budgets, and Proposal Number Requests within the Moffatt & Nichol’s pursuit management system Lead, develop, and oversee staff, including hiring, performance management, and succession planning Effectively lead and motivate Business Unit employees for a positive impact on retention, and an engaged, motivated, and sustainable workforceEnsure that succession plans are established and implemented as required for
