Simulation Engineer, Mid-Level

Job Duties Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes. Establishes best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design. Evaluates proposed theoretical results to meet design requirements. Serves as a technical expert to other employees to solves complex system equations and develops custom equations to simplify complex problems by using advanced engineering tools. Serves as a technical expert by coaching, developing, and reviewing work from other employees. Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross- disciplinary teams. Significantly contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions. Work across multiple teams located in different countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, India). Work close to the Electrical Engineering team, Systems Engineer, and the Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC). Qualifications Completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 5 years of experience in R&D. Experience in design of complex systems solutions including several engineering disciplines for Oil & Gas, mining and/or aerospace industry. Experience in design solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multi disciplines is desirable. Experience in design solutions for well intervention applications involving multi disciplines is desirable. Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers as needed. Experience defining requirements and reviewing proposals from third party (manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers). Knowledge and experience in Risk Assessment, FMEA, other reliability tools. Familiarity with power control and communication systems/solutions. Advanced working knowledge in electronic circuit design and in commonly used circuit simulators (LTSPICE, PSPICE, etc.) and math tools (Matlab, MathCAD, etc.) applied to embedded systems in harsh environments (O&G, mining or aerospace). Knowledge in IoT, UI mockup (simulation test environment) and digital twin. Experience in designing system automation using robotics. Experience in designing models, control design and simulation of electrical and mechanical system with standard software (Matlab, Labview, ROS, PLC software,..).
