We are looking for aBackend Developerto design, build, and maintain scalable systems for a Product-led engineering team. This person works in Java and/or Kotlin with Spring Boot, Graph QL, Mongo DB, and Aurora My SQL on AWS, covering everything from operational tooling to system architecture. Comfort picking up compliance, cost-savings, and observability work matters here. WHAT YOU WILL DOTake on lower-priority engineering work the team lacks bandwidth for, including compliance and engineering maintenance, cost-savings, observability, experiment clean-up, and operational tool development.
Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable software ntribute to system architecture and technical design, validating solutions through data and experimentation where appropriate.
Participate in code reviews and design reviews to maintain high engineering llaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.
Partner with a Product Manager and fellow engineers to clarify requirements and perform mid-level design work, focusing primarily on coding, testing, and documentation. MUST HAVES3+ years of professional, backend-focused software development experience.
Proficiency inJava and/or Kotlin.
Proficiency in a modern No SQL database,Mongo DB on Atlas.
Proficiency in a modern relational database,Aurora My SQL on AWS.Experience buildingcloud-native distributed systems on AWS.Experience with theSpring Bootframework. API development withGraph QL (Netflix DGS).Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance, and resilient systems on a major cloud platform. NICE TO HAVESEvent-driven system development, ideally with Apache Kafka and/or SQS.AI-assisted coding experience.
