The role is responsible for managing the Corporate NTD (New Technology Development) and Brazil Global Resource teams, focusing on the design and improvement of technologies and methodologies to support the development of compressors and related products. It involves leading efforts to develop new technologies, simulation procedures, tools, and analyses that maximize the company’s value proposition across various commercial refrigeration market segments. The position requires ensuring project targets are met within the required timeframe, handling multiple projects simultaneously, and applying comprehensive knowledge of positive displacement compressor technology and refrigeration systems. Key Responsibilities Manage the NTD (New Technology Development) and Brazil Global Resource teams in their daily activities. Lead the development of new technologies, simulation procedures, tools, and analyses to support compressor projects. Ensure project targets are achieved, meeting deadlines and managing several projects at once. Evaluate project results against design requirements. Implement guidelines and procedures to achieve engineering efficiencies. Propose and guide solutions for component and system design based on engineering specifications and requirements. Manage product competitive benchmarking. Prepare technical presentations and analysis reports for internal customers. Coordinate and facilitate group meetings, working with internal and external customers and suppliers. Initiate, execute, and track work plans and activities to meet customer requirements. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree or 3 years of related experience preferred. Supervisory experience of 1 to 3 years desirable. Strong understanding of commercial refrigeration components, theory of operation, and practical application. Comprehensive knowledge of positive displacement compressor technology and refrigeration systems. Understanding of FEA structural, dynamic, nonlinear, acoustic analysis, and CFD, as well as engineering calculations. Knowledge of specifications and standards applied in the commercial refrigeration industry. Excellent analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Ability to respond to inquiries from engineering and internal customers. Ability to build and enhance team spirit within global and local CAE teams and in cross-functional collaboration. Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and perform assignments often with minimal supervision.
