Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team in the role of Construction Mechanic: Fabrication. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various construction techniques and be proficient in using hand and power tools. This role involves working on diverse projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and collaborating effectively with team members to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all work in a clean, timely, and orderly fashion.
  • Accurately complete work and inspection documentation.
  • Complete onsite and offsite classroom training as required.
  • Train maintenance personnel as required.
  • Exhibit welding skills per AWS D1.1:2020 and the following parameters:
  • 1/4" 7018 rod.
  • 1/4" structural steel plate.
  • 60° V joint.
  • Flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Fabricate steel structures per print or direction including those necessary for transport of forgings.
  • Construct wood structures per print or direction including shipping crates, platforms, and concrete forms.
  • Sawing and shaping of blocking including that necessary for transport of forgings.
  • Repair of building and other structures by welding or mechanical means.
  • Additional skills necessary to fabricate needed items and repair present and future plant equipment and structures.
Qualifications
  • Strong background in various construction techniques.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Adherence to safe working practices including Lock Out/Tag Out, confined space, fire prevention, and fall restraint.
