Job Description

PNUD Argentina is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation of our sustainable commodity production project in Brazil.

The Technical Analyst will provide policy advisory and support to programme delivery, contribute to create and nurture strategic partnerships and relationships, and facilitate knowledge building and management for and from the project implementation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, forestry, natural resources management, international development, business, political science, environmental policy or related fields. They will also have experience in project management, programme/project coordination and monitoring, and demonstrated dominance of the national context of Brazil's cattle and soy sectors.

The Technical Analyst will work closely with the UNDP Brazil Country Office, the national project team, and the UNDP Global FACS Team to achieve the project's objectives. They will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with federal and local public institutions, and participating in multi-stakeholder processes in Tocantins.

Requirements

Advanced university degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Natural Resources Management, International Development, Business, Political Science, Environmental Policy or related fields
A minimum of 2 years (with master's degree) or 4 years (with bachelor's degree) of relevant experience in Agriculture, Forestry, Natural Resources Management, International Development, Business, Political Science, Environmental Policy or related field
Experience in project management, programme/project coordination and monitoring or similar
Demonstrated dominance of the national context of Brazil's cattle and soy sectors, as well as their state-level challenges
Experience with multi-stakeholder dialogue and collaboration processes
Experience working with high-level stakeholders in both the private and public sectors, particularly in the context of agricultural commodity sectors
Extensive experience working on sustainable agriculture, preferably related to the value chains of soy and cattle
Outstanding communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, management, and organizational skills

Desirable Skills

Experience in implementation of traditional people or community-based projects in Brazil is an asset
Knowledge of Results-based Management (RBM) tools is considered an asset
Experience working with government counterparts
Prior experience with the United Nations and other international organisms
Experience with UNDP or other UN agencies is an advantage

Language Requirements

Fluency in English and Portuguese is required
