Job Description

As a critical member of our Ubuntu Security Team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and mitigate vulnerabilities in open-source software.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing and resolving security vulnerabilities in open-source packages to ensure the integrity of Ubuntu
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest security threats and researching mitigation strategies to address emerging risks
  • Collaborating with upstream developers and other stakeholders to exchange and develop vulnerability patches and strengthen the overall security posture of Ubuntu
  • Developing and maintaining tools to aid in the identification and remediation of security issues
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Thorough knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and techniques for mitigating them
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., C, Python, Go, Rust, Java)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
