Cobol As400 Legacy System Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Legacy System Support Specialist to work on a remote basis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with COBOL, RPGLE, CLLE, SQLRPGLE, and DB2/400.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications written in COBOL on IBM iSeries (AS/400).
- Work with RPGLE, CLLE, SQLRPGLE, and DB2/400 to support business-critical applications.
- Design and maintain display files (DSPF) and reporting files (PRTF) for user interfaces and printed output.
- Debug and resolve issues in batch and interactive programs.
- Participate in the design and implementation of system integrations with third-party or internal applications.
- Understand and support accounting-related processes where applicable.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Mandatory:
- Proficiency in COBOL development on IBM i / AS/400 and DB2/400 and SQL.
- Strong hands-on experience in RPGLE, CLLE, and SQLRPGLE.
- Experience in creating and maintaining display files (DSPF) and printer files (PRTF).
- Understanding of job control, batch job processing, and CL programming.
- Preferred:
- Experience or domain knowledge in the automotive or rental industry.
- Understanding of integration systems and data flow between platforms.
- Exposure to accounting systems/processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with modern integration (e.g., APIs, middleware) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, or other structured development methodologies.
