As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will play a central role in shaping our data infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on building and optimizing our data warehouse. You will work closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to design scalable, reliable, and high-quality data systems that become the foundation for insights and decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow.
- Developing data models across the Medallion Architecture layers to support analytics and reporting.
- Optimizing SQL queries for large datasets in AWS Athena and other relational systems.
- Building and maintaining dashboards and BI workflows using Metabase.
- Collaborating with Product, Operations, and Analytics teams to define startup metrics and KPIs.
- Ensuring data quality, governance, and reproducibility across the data warehouse/lake.
- Establishing best practices for data engineering and analytics.
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Strong SQL expertise with experience tuning queries and designing efficient schemas.
- Hands-on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with AWS services, especially Athena, S3, and Glue.
- Experience building analytics dashboards with Metabase or similar BI tools.
- Understanding of Medallion Architecture and layered data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of startup/product metrics and how to translate them into analytics workflows.
- Proficiency in Python for data engineering and ETL tasks.
- Collaborative and able to work cross-functionally with product and business teams.
