The role of the Business Development Manager is to drive growth and expansion in a portfolio of captive insurance companies.
- Primary focus on financial management and strategic planning
Reporting directly to the leadership team, this role will operate under general direction, focusing on financial management, regulatory compliance, and client relationship development.
- Ensures strong relationships with clients, regulators, and industry partners
This position plays a key part in supporting business initiatives, ensuring adherence to accounting practices, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
- Liaison with brokers and reinsurance providers as required
- Assist with risk assessment and decision-making in conjunction with the Client Service Team and Practice Resources
- Monitoring of exposures and risk transfer pricing within assigned portfolio
- Obtain approval for changes to the business plan
- Insurance:

- Finance/Regulatory:
- Monitoring of domicile solvency and capital requirements
- Obtaining approval for changes to the business plan
- Ensuring timely production of financial statements and information
- Assisting with the adoption of appropriate accounting practices and ensuring adherence thereto
- Managing or supervising cash requirements of the companies
- Liaising with and monitoring investment managers in respect of invested funds
- Assisting the Client Service Team with coordination of meetings and ensuring relevant company secretarial functions are performed in a timely manner
- Management:
- Providing input on strategic and operational issues
- Assuming responsibility for a specific area of business strategy
- Maintaining contact with all client directors and keeping them advised of any developments
- Keeping Practice leadership apprised of client developments
- Supporting Senior Management in performing board insight, perspective, and thought leadership as required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced computer skills
- Knowledge and experience of captive insurance and insurance industry in areas such as accounting, insurance products, and problem resolution
- Ability to monitor quality control
