Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Geologist Specialist to join our team at Carmeuse Brasil.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting field mapping to support prospecting activities and ensuring the quality and quantities of limestone to satisfy our customers.
  • Developing 3D models of the structure and chemistry of carbonate ore deposits.
  • Planning and supervising core drilling projects, geophysical surveys, and occasional hydrologic studies.
  • Providing input and support in the development of mine plans.
  • Assuring that quarries and mines can supply the required quality and quantities of limestone to satisfy our customers.
  • Supporting Sales and Marketing by advising on the translation of available reserves in the market.
  • Prospecting for new deposits and reporting on the geological portion of Due Diligence assignments.

Requirements:

  • 0-5 years of experience in geology, with a bachelor's degree in Geology (Master's degree is preferable).
  • Fluency in oral and written English and Portuguese.
  • Ability to perform frequent domestic travel and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Occasional international travel.
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong reporting, presentation skills, and ability to synthesize information well.
  • Ability to work effectively at various levels of the organization and across organizational boundaries.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in fieldwork and mapping.
  • Familiarity with core drilling, logging, sampling, and testing of carbonate rocks.
  • Familiarity with geophysical prospecting desirable but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with, or aptitude for learning specialized software packages commonly used in the mining industry.
