Strategic Public Policy Manager

We seek a seasoned professional to lead our public policy efforts in the Brazil Division. As Strategic Public Policy Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance relationships with government and key policymakers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policy-related strategic plans for key issues areas in the Brazil Division of LAC.
  • Interpret and influence the policy environment relating to key political, regulatory, economic developments in the financial services sector.
  • Assist in development and execution of Mastercard executives' outreach to policymakers, ensuring that external government relations are well choreographed.
  • Represent the company before executive branch agencies, legislative bodies, regulatory authorities, in coordination with other internal teams.
  • Work closely with outside consultants responsible for helping develop the strategy and supporting the execution of the strategy.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working in public policy, legislative, or government affairs positions in a corporate, association, or governmental context.
  • Possess good judgment, a creative approach to problem-solving and the ability to function as a team player.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must possess strong interpersonal skills, be a team player, and show appreciation of diverse cultural methods of working and doing business.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Portuguese, and the ability to work well with business partners across the Brazil Division, the United States and with colleagues in other LAC Divisions and world regions.

This is a full-time position requiring frequent travel within the region. The ideal candidate will have a proactive, time-sensitive, results-driven approach in carrying out all duties, obligations, and responsibilities.
