Job Summary
The Construction Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Project Engineer and Project Manager on onshore and offshore construction activities, ensuring the successful execution of medium to large-sized projects and shutdown campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- To contribute and prepare construction execution plans for medium to large-sized projects and shutdown campaigns, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- To contribute to the scope of work documents for site subcontracts, ensuring that all necessary requirements are met and that the project is delivered on time and within budget.
- To ensure that all constructability concerns are addressed by either the project, fabrication, maintenance, shutdown, and construction team, minimizing delays and costs.
- To review client contract specifications and prepare project construction specifications, including fabrication, piping, and other relevant specifications.
- To ensure that relevant QA and HSE procedures are understood, implemented, and enforced by all construction personnel under their authority, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- To be responsible for the quality and safety performance of all construction personnel working under their authority, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards.
- To establish and/or review construction procedures and planning input for that part of the project under their authority, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to ensure project success.
- To contribute/prepare or supervise (dependent on project size) the preparation of onshore/offshore installation work packs and job cards, ensuring that all necessary information is included.
- To plan and analyze the progress of the work, assess situations, and initiate corrective actions, ensuring that the project stays on track.
- To write and issue progress reports every week or as agreed with the project team, providing regular updates on project status.
- To provide assistance and advice to construction personnel working under their authority, ensuring that they have the necessary support to perform their duties effectively.
- To ascertain the needs for training and development of construction supervisors and inform the construction manager as appropriate, ensuring that all personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- To analyze and contribute to creating a list with all necessary tools and consumables required for offshore activities execution, ensuring that all necessary resources are available.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or technical college diploma in Engineering or Materials Science.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and/or project management in the offshore industry, with particular emphasis on FPSO/FSO floating production vessels.
- Preferably with either a mechanical or structural background.
- Advanced in spoken and written English.
