About Us

At our organization, we're looking for a seasoned Data Architect to join our team and drive the design of our relational data systems. This is a full-time contract position with competitive pay.

The Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Data Architect who can define schemas, build models, and enforce standards that keep our data reliable, secure, and high-performing. As part of this role, you'll work closely with developers and product teams to ensure our database architecture supports real-world use cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schema Design & Modeling: Develop logical and physical data models that scale with complex, multi-tenant applications.
  • Database Optimization: Tune queries, indexes, and partitioning strategies for maximum performance and reliability.
  • Integration & Sync: Support ETL/ELT processes and ensure robust data synchronization across distributed environments.
  • Governance & Security: Establish standards for data quality, retention, lineage, and compliance (SOC2, GDPR, etc.).
  • Collaboration: Partner with developers and product teams to ensure the database architecture supports real-world use cases.
  • Documentation & Standards: Define naming conventions, coding standards, and best practices to ensure long-term maintainability.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Deep expertise in relational database design (PostgreSQL strongly preferred).
  • Strong command of SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with schema normalization/denormalization and partitioning strategies.
  • Familiarity with backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Solid understanding of security practices: encryption, access controls, and auditing.
  • Background in designing for multi-tenant or large-scale transactional systems.
