Technical Leadership Role

The successful Technical Lead will lead a team of remote engineers, developing talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development. The role involves setting and managing expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders, advocating and advancing modern software development practices.

  • Lead a team of remote engineers, focusing on high-quality microservice architectures and high-performance team leadership.
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development, ensuring engineers grow as professionals and achieve personal satisfaction.
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders, facilitating technical delivery and contributing to strategy and execution.

About the Team: Our mission is to build a next-generation private cloud infrastructure, combining KVM, Ceph, and SDN technologies. We're hiring experienced technical leaders who can lead successful, collaborative engineering teams, solve challenging distributed systems problems, and demonstrate deep knowledge of Linux.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the engineering process through code and architectural review, engaging with teams at Canonical, the open source community, and partners.
  • Work from home with occasional global travel for internal and external events.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong background in software engineering and team leadership.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
