Are you a seasoned leader with experience in delivering top-tier sports events? We are seeking an Executive Tournament Director to join our team and lead the successful delivery of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027.

">About the Role

The Executive Tournament Director will oversee all aspects of the tournament, including administrative, commercial, financial, legal, communication, and reporting matters. This role will work closely with the Chief Women's Football Officer and the Head of the FIFA Women's World Cup to ensure seamless collaboration and delivery.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of all administrative, commercial, financial, legal, communication, and reporting matters related to the tournament.
  • Closely working with the Chief Women's Football Officer and the Head of the FIFA Women's World Cup to ensure effective delivery and collaboration.
  • Representing the event in Brazil, engaging with stakeholders, participants, and media to promote its mission and values.
  • Collaboration with the FIFA Head of the FIFA Women's World Cup and the FIFA27 Executive Operations Director to ensure effective delivery.
  • Ensuring seamless collaboration and reporting into the FIFA Leadership.
Your Profile
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in leading roles in sports event management and delivery is required.
  • Proven track record in international event delivery with clear achievement of KPIs on budget, event objectives, and operational milestones is essential.
  • Experience working with the Brazilian Federal and State Governments is highly valued.
  • Critical problem-solving skills and sound judgment are necessary for making key decisions for the business.
  • Clear experience in managing multi-million-dollar event budgets and multi-disciplined teams across various business areas is desirable.
  • Ability to effectively monitor employees' organisational performance and implement corrective actions is crucial.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills are required.
  • Competent IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) are necessary.
  • Knowledge of event planning and project management processes (project management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP an advantage) is beneficial.
  • Experience and knowledge of the local culture and political structures in Brazil are highly valued.
  • Working knowledge of football and fluency in English (spoken and written) and Portuguese (spoken and written) are advantages.
