Lead Agricultural Manager

To excel in this role, you must have a solid background in agricultural management with extensive experience in crop farming and animal husbandry.

About the Role:
  • Effective planning, budgeting, and execution of crops and pastures are crucial to your success.
  • You will oversee staff and ensure their safety and well-being, as well as maintain accurate records and manage inventory.
Key Responsibilities:Farm Management:
  • Develop annual budgets for cropping, pasture, and cover crops.
  • Plan and execute monthly board meetings with staff members to discuss activities, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Oversee daily activities, delegate tasks, and ensure staff has necessary equipment.
  • Maintain health and safety standards, ensure security of assets, and identify areas for improvement.
Administrative Support:
  • Produce profit and loss statements monthly and report to management.
  • Assist in setting annual budgets, allocate invoices on spreadsheets, and process payments.
  • Manage supplier statements, request invoices, and send proof of payment.
  • Filing of all supplier documents and proof of payments.
Requirements:
  • Degree in agriculture, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years' experience in intensive crop farming is essential.
  • Computer literacy and excellent communication skills required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to speak Zulu an advantage.
