Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to manage our Tableau server in the cloud. This is a long-term position that offers flexibility and work-life balance.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with setting up and configuring Tableau servers, performing server upgrades, and parameter changes. They will also be proficient in connecting Tableau to different data sources, managing user permissions, security, and access within Tableau environments, and troubleshooting performance issues and optimizing dashboards.

  • Troubleshoot Tableau performance issues and optimize dashboards

The requirements include minimum 10 years of IT experience, 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Tableau Servers, strong understanding of Tableau architecture, including workbooks, data sources, extract refresh schedules, and server maintenance. Knowledge of Tableau Server features, including scheduling, content management, and server configuration, is also necessary. Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) to troubleshoot data-related issues is required. Additionally, experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or batch scripting for automating administrative tasks is a plus.

A strong understanding of data governance concepts and experience implementing data security measures in Tableau is necessary. Cloud infrastructure knowledge (e.g., AWS) is a plus but not required.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Ability to explain and understand problems effectively and strong stakeholder communication skills are also required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Tableau and its features, excellent communication skills, and experience in IT and data governance. Time zone: Pacific Time Zone preferred, but flexibility is possible.
