Job Title: Director of Research Information Systems

This position plays a crucial role in defining and executing the strategic direction for research information systems, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and compliance obligations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale, complex technology projects, and possess excellent communication skills capable of translating technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute the strategic direction for research information systems to align with institutional goals and compliance obligations.
  • Oversee the selection, development, and integration of research administration system components.
  • Serve as the primary liaison among research faculty, administrative staff, IT professionals, and external partners.
  • Direct multidisciplinary teams in planning and executing system implementations and process improvements.
  • Establish policies for data stewardship, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, complex technology projects.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to research data.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills capable of translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in information systems, computer science, research administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud-based research infrastructure and SaaS research administration solutions.
  • Familiarity with data standards and interoperability frameworks for research data.
  • Active participation in national or international research IT or research administration associations.
