Machine Shop Technician

We are seeking a skilled Machine Shop Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with metalworking machines, including lathes and milling machines. You will be responsible for reading and understanding setup sheets, specifications, and drawings to determine setup procedures, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished work pieces.

Additionally, you will select and install proper cutting tools, load programs into machine control units, and enter commands to index cutting tools to specified set points and start machines.

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential for this role. If you are a motivated and organized individual with experience in machine shop operations, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
  • Read and understand setup sheets, specifications, and drawings to determine setup procedures, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished work pieces
  • Select and install proper cutting tools
  • Load programs into machine control units and enter commands to index cutting tools to specified set points and start machines
  • Measure and inspect first work piece for conformance to specifications and quality standards
  • Maintain machines and follow all safety rules and policies
Requirements:
  • 2 years' experience in machine shop environment preferred
  • Experience in mechanical field required
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Required to stand for long periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor
  • Exposure to loud noises
