Job Description:
  • The successful candidate will lead the architecture, implementation, and ongoing delivery of key aspects of the Ubuntu Linux kernel.
  • Drive engagements with Silicon and Cloud partners to provide optimal solutions for their platforms.
  • Lead the mitigation of common vulnerabilities and exposures for Ubuntu Linux.
  • Architect enhancements to performance and correctness to make Ubuntu Linux the most reliable and highest performing Linux kernel available today.
  • Streamline the packaging and distribution of third-party components for optimal experience by end users.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Operating System Kernels and Distributions: The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in operating system kernels and distributions.
  • Leadership and Initiative: Strong people skills and natural ability to lead engineers within the team are required.
  • Programming Languages: Expert understanding of C programming language and Python scripting ability.
  • Version Control Systems: Powerful grasp of the capabilities and nuances of the git version control system.
  • Software Packaging Formats: Prior experience developing with software packaging formats, with direct Ubuntu/Debian/Snap experience being highly regarded.
  • Real-Time Performance Analysis: Strong background in RTOS and real-time performance analysis is a nice-to-have skill.
