Job Summary:

  • Develops, implements, and/or maintains one or more accounting systems, including journal entries, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue reconciliation, and other financial transactions.
  • Provides a record of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.
  • Prepares federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
  • Reviews, tracks, and maintains information in financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations.
  • Ensures payroll is processed with speed and accuracy.
  • Assists with third-party payroll system implementations and upgrades.
  • Works directly with employees to resolve outstanding payroll inquiries.
  • Ensures timely and accurate input of employee status and pay changes from employees, other departments, etc.
  • Interprets pay policies, such as vacation, workers' compensation, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc., and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to various accounts correctly.
  • Ensures company compliance with government-mandated payroll requirements.
  • Stays current with changes in the law.
  • Prepares tax reports and related documentation.
  • Documents payroll processes and procedures.
  • Prepares payroll-related journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Prepares and creates standard and ad-hoc reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and adhere to all corporate policies, including but not limited to ACI Worldwide's Code of Ethics and Global Information Security.
  • Performs accounting functions for various general ledger accounts, which involves the preparation of journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Alerts management of potential internal control issues or non-compliance with policy.
  • Completes special accounting projects assigned by management.
  • Calculates and enters domestic payroll data into payroll systems.
  • Accounts for payroll transactions and reconciles related general ledger accounts.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with company policy, payroll tax, and employment laws.
  • Maintains payroll records.
  • Provides customer service to employees with payroll-related questions.
  • Provides internal and external audit deliverables.
  • Prepares and creates standard and ad-hoc reports.
  • Prepares tax reports.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Experience in IFRS (NIIF).
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in preparing tax reports.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle confidential information.
  • Bilingual – English.
  • Desirable knowledge in Siigo accounting software.
