As a Program Director, you'll play a critical role in shaping our response to disasters and promoting resilience in affected communities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective program strategies to ensure efficient delivery of projects.
- Lead and manage a diverse team of staff to achieve program goals and objectives.
- Ensure overall budget and timeline compliance of the program.
- Collaborate with operations and project teams to deliver operational and project targets within approved time and budget constraints.
- Develop and implement emergency procedures and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Oversee the delivery of weekly and monthly reporting for all aspects of the program.
- Ensure all program tracking systems are updated regularly and maintained.
- Build and maintain relationships with local partners to foster collaboration and support.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements for the program.
- Manage financial responsibilities, including the operating budget for the program.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience in a relevant field.
Related Experience: 2+ years experience working in a disaster response context, preferably with All Hands and Hearts. 1+ years experience in a role with project management responsibilities, including budget tracking and reporting. 2+ years experience managing a team.
Special Competencies/Certifications: Valid Driver's License. Excellent written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets, and Microsoft Office. Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. Outstanding leadership and delegation skills. Able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment. Must have a sophisticated and developed management style. Familiarity with international humanitarian standards including Sphere and HAP.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands- Constantly works in outdoor adverse weather conditions.
- Frequently moves items weighing up to 40 lbs on work site or on base.
- Frequently operates computer.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position.
- Frequent travel.
- Living in a communal environment.
- High stress situations in an immediate post-disaster environment with limited amenities.
Typical starting salary is $2,050-$2,425 USD/month, and up to $2,800 USD/month for highly qualified candidates who have previous experience in this role.
