Key Roles of a Tax Strategist

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled tax expert to spearhead our clients' tax advisory services. This role offers the opportunity to grow within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead in developing and implementing tax-planning strategies to minimize clients' tax liabilities.
  • Provide informed advice on tax implications related to corporate restructuring, financing, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border investments, and other transactions.
  • Support both international and local clients with ad-hoc tax engagements.
  • Liaise with tax authorities as required during tax audits.
  • Deliver technical training and provide ongoing support to the accounting and audit teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with local and international direct tax developments.
  • Identify growth opportunities for the unit.
  • Review and enhance systems and processes where necessary.
  • Mentor junior team members, acting as their main point of contact and reviewing their work.
Requirements
  • Hold ACCA qualifications (or equivalent).
  • Possess at least 2 years of experience in a CSP environment after obtaining qualifications.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting standards and Maltese tax legislation.
  • Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work independently as well as within a team.
