Mid-Level DevOps Engineer Job

We're looking for a skilled Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to join our network and work on flexible, project-based development projects with U.S. clients.

About the Role
  • The ideal candidate will integrate directly into the client's team, working alongside designers and engineers on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
  • The selected candidate will implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools like AWS and Terraform.
  • They'll develop and maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines using CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Ensuring high availability and scalability of applications by implementing load balancing and autoscaling strategies is crucial.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical requirements.
  • Designing and implementing monitoring and logging solutions to ensure visibility into application performance is essential.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in DevOps and cloud computing is required.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • A four-year college degree is necessary.
  • Advanced English language skills are required.
  • Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Next.js, Node.js, or JavaScript frameworks is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting for automation is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices is essential.
  • Practical experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is necessary.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and concepts, preferably GitHub Actions, is a plus.
  • Experience with Docker and containerization principles is required.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code in an object-oriented programming language, such as Python, Ruby, Java, Go, C#, is essential.
  • Solid understanding of Git and version control workflows is necessary.
  • Interest in using AI to enhance developer tooling and automation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL for data manipulation or database operations is required.
  • Ability to work through new and difficult issues and contribute to libraries as needed is essential.
  • Forensic attention to detail and a positive mindset are necessary.
  • Experience working on Agile / Scrum teams is a plus.
  • Meaningful experience working on large, complex systems is required.
  • Ability to take extreme ownership over your work is essential.
  • Ability to consistently work 40 hours per week is necessary.
