Financial Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing the accounting team to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and accounting.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Financial Analysis: Review and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial processing.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments, including operations and senior leadership, to provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls:
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to financial practices.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Long-Term Planning: Support long-term financial planning and provide recommendations for cost-saving strategies and capital investments.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to increase efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
