Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Backend Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for owning and contributing to the backend architecture and implementation for our API interface. You will work closely with the web layer, authentication, data enrichment, event sourcing via CQRS, and database layer with Postgres on Google Cloud.

As a Sr. Backend Engineer, you will leverage Elixir/Erlang with Phoenix (web), CQRS, Broadway (pub/sub), Oban (background jobs), and Hermes (MCP) as part of the backend stack. You will also collaborate with teams to design and implement scalable, reliable infrastructure and services.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience as a Senior Backend Engineer, with 5+ years of experience in Elixir/Erlang. They will also have expertise in backend frameworks, including Phoenix (web), CQRS, Broadway (pub/sub), Oban (background jobs), and Hermes (MCP). Additionally, they should have experience with infrastructure, including Google Cloud, Postgres, Terraform, and Appsignal.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable infrastructure and services.
  • Own and contribute to the backend architecture and implementation for the API interface.
  • Work closely with the web layer, authentication, data enrichment, event sourcing via CQRS, and database layer with Postgres on Google Cloud.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience as a Senior Backend Engineer.
  • 5+ years of experience in Elixir/Erlang.

  • Experience with infrastructure: Google Cloud, Postgres, Terraform, Appsignal.
